There is nothing wrong if some one takes pride in a job well done or having a healthy sense of self worth or self esteem , but when the pride takes you a state of exaggerated self importance, unwillingness to admit mistakes and excessive concern for one's own image it becomes a worthless ego.
Such people always feel insecure and unstable. To protect their ego they often spoil relations as they have tendency to hurt others feelings. They are focused on receiving praise and admiration. They choke self improvement and personal growth. They violate all the principles on which happy lasting relationships are based.
