Why Society is becoming more and more cruel?
Human kindness has never weakened the stamina or softened the fiber of a free people. A nation does not have to be cruel to be tough.
- Franklin D. Roosevelt, 32nd US President (1882-1945)
We have come to believe that we must be cruel to be tough and we have been adopting this belief as if it alone would give us success in our business or education or sports . Politicians have come to think that cruelty alone would protect t hem from those who want to take their power.

This change of attitude is steadily increasing to alarming proportions. The largest contributor for that, I have no doubt say is the media . The media -press ,radio and tv shapes the public opinion. They print or show what they want or what the government and their advertisers allow. So know their criteria for selecting or rejecting and select your topics to maximise your chances of reaching the public .
You have to look at local angle for local media. Every one loves children and animals. News papers loves pictures and tv needs photogenic faces, for them content is less important. (Now you know why the talk shows always invite only those people…..)
Protest marches get more attention than peaceful marches . Good news is no news. Eye catching head lines for news papers and disgusting pictures for a news channel find more .
Harbhajan's duel with some X gets more media attention than his 5 wicket hall . The discovery of a girl child in a dust bean, Police killing the acid attackers in a questionable encounter and lovers slicing their wrists and sprinting into the sea get the maximum attention.
