About public awreness...

Now there is scope to involve the on line community in many day to day problems in India to shape this country into a meaningful place to live in. There are many other evils we have here which make our life miserable. In many cases we feel helpless. Many of the problems need a change of attitude rather than an intervention of law enforcing agencies. Let me cite a few things about which most of the travelers to India often complain and look down at us.

About Honking Horns…...Can we not do some thing about them? I think the public particularly the youth can contribute a lot in eradicating these evils. Though there are laws which prevent all of them, they can do very little. The developed world over, people honk their horns at intersections that lack traffic lights, but in India we honk horns even at traffic lights. The bigger the vehicle, the more he considers himself “the king of the road”. He uses deafening Horns with scant respect for others. And of course, the louder the horn, the more likely the driver will be using it more.

Secondly, Here People particularly men, pee everywhere, some times women too squat in public as well. If there is a wall, it is a urinal. They are not ashamed. Every city has to live in this stench.

I can not finish this post without mentioning about beggars. We have them every where, from Traffic signals to temples. They don’t mind knocking at your car window. Some times they are aggressive too. We often see young men in black robes begging for a spiritual trip. Women beg with baby in their hands to get the utmost attention. You can be kind, you can be sympathetic. But are we not encouraging laziness? Are we not helping them to find easy money?
